Greenbrier County Jail Roster Access
Greenbrier County arrestees who need jail housing are routed through the Southern Regional Jail and Correctional Facility in Beaver. The facility is operated by the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation, not by the Greenbrier County Sheriff. The official facility page says Southern Regional Jail serves Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming counties. For public lookup, the key system is the WV Regional Jail Offender Search, backed by the Daily Incarcerations tool.
The Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office still matters for arrest reports, incident records, and local records from sheriff-handled events. Sheriff Bart Baker's office lists law-enforcement locations in Lewisburg and Rupert and states that the office performs custodial transportation, criminal investigation, accident investigation, civil process, and courthouse security. The sheriff page does not publish a county jail roster. If a person is in regional jail custody, use WVDCR. If the question is a sheriff incident report, use the sheriff's public-records process.
The roster also should not be read as a complete criminal-history report. It is a custody lookup for people in the regional jail system. The court record shows the filed charge and the outcome, the sheriff record may show the incident report, and the prison locator covers state custody after sentencing or program commitment.
The official WV Regional Jail search page shows the name fields and captcha used for jail custody searches.
The form is the most direct public route for active Greenbrier County jail records when the person has been admitted to Southern Regional Jail.
Use the Greenbrier County Jail Roster
The state jail search is name-based. It is built for active regional-jail custody, so released people, state-prison residents, and federal detainees may not appear. The public disclaimer warns that location, release date, status, and related details can change quickly. Treat the roster as a custody screen, then check court records for the official criminal case.
- Open the WV Regional Jail Offender Search for jail custody.
- Enter at least the first three letters of the last name. Add the first name when the name is common.
- Complete the captcha and review the matching jail records.
- Confirm whether the institution is Southern Regional Jail before assuming the record relates to Greenbrier County.
- If the person is not listed, check Daily Incarcerations, call Southern Regional Jail, then move to DOC, court, BOP, ICE, or sheriff records based on the case.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name (Partial or Full) | Text | Yes | Minimum three characters, maximum one hundred. |

Note: The state page says regular updates do not guarantee the displayed status is the true current custody status.
Greenbrier County Daily Incarcerations
The WV Daily Incarcerations page adds a second route for Greenbrier County inmate records. It includes a county dropdown and an admissions-by-institution table. The research inspection on July 2, 2026 showed Southern Regional Jail with eight admissions in the institution summary. That number was a daily admissions count, not the full Greenbrier County inmate population and not the facility's average daily population.
Daily Incarcerations is useful when the arrest date is known or when a name search is not enough. The visible Southern Regional Jail admissions summary showed a View Details link, admission time, last name, first name, middle name, birth date, gender, institution heading, summary date, and total. It did not show booking photos, charge text, bond amounts, housing unit, warrant number, or court date in the visible admissions table.
| Visible Field | What It Tells You |
|---|---|
| View Details | Link into the official search/details flow. |
| Time | Admission or booking time for that daily summary. |
| Name Fields | Last, first, and middle name as displayed by WVDCR. |
| Birth Date | Date of birth in the visible roster row. |
| Gender | Male or female value observed in the table. |
| Total | Admissions listed for the selected institution and date. |
The Daily Incarcerations page displays the county and institution tools used to narrow current jail admissions.
The daily table helps separate same-name matches and confirms whether Southern Regional Jail received admissions for the date being checked.
When the county dropdown or institution summary does not return the expected person, check name spelling, middle name, birth date, and arrest date before assuming the record is absent. Regional jail admissions can also lag behind an arrest, and release can occur before a search is run. For urgent matters, the Southern Regional Jail main phone remains the confirmation channel named in the research.
Greenbrier County Sheriff Records Requests
The sheriff records channel is not a substitute for the WVDCR jail roster. It is the fallback for reports and records maintained by the Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office. The county FOIA form says the sheriff is only responsible for records related to incidents handled and investigated by that office. Records from Lewisburg Police, State Police, or another local agency must be requested from the agency that made or investigated the incident.
The Greenbrier Sheriff FOIA form asks for the requestor's name, entity represented, address, phone, email, contact preference, date of incident, names of persons involved, and the information requested. It also requires acknowledgement that non-sheriff records must go to the specific agency and that production fees may apply. The page cites West Virginia Code 29B-1-3 and says records may be redacted or withheld under FOIA exemptions or other law.
The Greenbrier Sheriff FOIA page shows the local request form used when an inmate record question depends on a sheriff-handled incident report.
The form's required acknowledgements are useful because they keep Greenbrier County inmate records requests pointed at the agency that actually maintains the record.

Greenbrier County Custody Systems
A missing Greenbrier County jail roster match does not always mean no custody exists. The person may have been released, transferred after sentencing, held under a federal process, booked under a different name spelling, or subject to an immigration locator. Use the custody type to choose the next tool.
| System | Who It Covers | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| Regional jail | Pretrial detainees and jail sentences at Southern Regional Jail. | WV Regional Jail Offender Search |
| State prison or supervision | Active WVDCR prison, parole, or supervision status, including Anthony Correctional Center. | WVDCR DOC Offender Search |
| Custody notifications | Release or status notice for custody and case events. | West Virginia VINE |
| Federal custody | BOP records for federal inmates from 1982 to present. | BOP Inmate Locator |
| Immigration detention | ICE custody, when applicable. | ICE Online Detainee Locator System |
The Greenbrier County Connect App is a county alerts, directory, event, location, and website-browsing app. The official app page did not advertise an inmate roster, warrant search, most-wanted list, mugshot gallery, or records-request tool.
State prison lookup is especially important for Greenbrier County because Anthony Correctional Center is inside the county but is not the county jail. The facility houses young adult offenders in a WVDCR state correctional center model. A person committed there should be searched through the WVDCR DOC Offender Search, which accepts an offender ID path or a first-name and last-name path. The jail roster may stop being the correct tool after sentencing, program commitment, parole, or other state supervision status.
VINE can then be used for custody and case notifications where the state notification portal supports the record, especially when release timing matters locally now.
Greenbrier County Jail Visit Records
Southern Regional Jail visitation is structured by WVDCR facility rules. The research source says visits are non-contact, scheduled in advance, and start with the inmate submitting SRJ form 5-0029. Family members should not rely on a walk-in visit without confirming that the person is still housed at Southern Regional Jail and that the visit was scheduled through the facility.
| Rule | Official Detail |
|---|---|
| Visit type | Non-contact visitation. |
| Request method | Inmate submits SRJ form 5-0029. |
| Visitor count | One adult and two minor children, or two adults. |
| Frequency | One visit per inmate per month. |
| Length | Thirty minutes. |
| Scheduling | Scheduled in advance; scheduling phone is (304) 256-6738. |
Mail, calls, video, and money use statewide WVDCR channels. Mail is centralized in Phoenix, Maryland and requires the inmate's full name, OID number, and full facility name with no abbreviation. WVDCR identifies GettingOut for calling and video visits. Deposits can be made through ConnectNetwork by phone, web, or app, while Union Supply Direct handles approved package orders when the sender has the WVDCR identification number.
Package and deposit details should be checked before money is sent. The WVDCR banking page documented phone, web, and app deposit methods, but the captured official pages did not publish a Southern Regional Jail-specific fee table. Union Supply Direct's West Virginia package site requires the WVDCR identification number and separates jail packages from prison packages. If the person's status changed from jail to prison, confirm the facility and OID before ordering.
